Diamonds & Lace Bridal

Well if you follow me on any social media you have seen the exciting news that I have said yes to the dress! I wanted to do this post for other brides going through the dress buying process for some pointers and to explain how amazing it was to work with Mae at Diamonds & Lace in State College, PA. They truly gave me the perfect and most stress free experience picking out my wedding dress. I also had no clue that it takes 6-8 months to make a wedding gown so plan that accordingly with your big day!

I wanted to keep my budget for the dress at $1,000 or lower which was the first challenge for most bridal boutiques I wanted to visit in Philly and the surrounding suburbs so I decided to take a gamble on my hometown of State College. Boy did I make the right decision there, EVERYTHING and I truly mean everything has been so much cheaper in Central PA than close to Philly, if you can travel outside a metro area it is worth the drive to save the money! I made this appointment just with my mom going in with me on a random snowy Saturday and I truly did not expect to pick a dress that day. I totally thought I would be planning a trip down to BHLDN in Philly and having my maid of honor, bridesmaid, and future mother in law in tow to help me through the decision. Turns out my stylist Mae was so spot on to listening to my vision of the day that she pulled my dream dress and it was the 4th I tried on and instantly my mom and I knew this was it. I tried on about 5 more dresses but my heart was already set in the special one. I was actually extremely grateful my first trip to try on dresses I found the one!

Mae was phenomenal and allowed me to pull things of what I thought I would want but also made her own suggestions on what kind of bohemian dresses would look good on my petite figure. I would definitely suggest to try on all styles and don’t limit yourself to what you think you like in a photo because it will most likely not be what you actually like on your own figure. My last tidbit of advice would be to listen to your heart and just make the decision when it feels right. I was a little bummed only my mom was there and I felt like I was robbing my maid of honor and bridesmaid of this moment but it will be just as special when they see me try it on for a fitting! ❤️
