Philly Rail Park
The Philadelphia Rail Park is a great date night spot whether it is rainy or not! As you see Spencer and I checked it out a few weeks ago on a dreary Friday night but none the less had a lot of fun. Not far away is Love City Brewery, an excellent spot for a drink afterward! The idea is to become like the High Line of Philly in a few years and after seeing the first quarter mile I think it has a lot of potential. So excuse the dark photos but the lighting was not as optimal as I hoped for a photo shoot that evening!
I have been coming back to the personal struggle of how to really spend time with your significant other when you're both dealing with full time work schedules and opposite days off. Keeping date night alive is definitely one of my favorite ways to keep the relationship healthy and interesting as far as trying new things together. On the other hand a night in snuggled up on the couch with our dogs and Power on TV is equally as satisfying. Also I recently read a meme that said "True love is finding someone you can have fun at the grocery store with" and I couldn't relate to that more as it is one of my favorite things to do with Spencer (is this what being an adult is?! I'm ok with it). In the end I guess it will never be a perfect balance in our relationship as his career and mine clash in busy times and seasons. However, we have found a really good line of communication with each other that we are vocal when we don't think we are seeing enough of each other or seeing too much of each other and need some space.
What are some ways you and your significant other balance this crazy game called life? Or if you are single how do you balance a crazy work load and making "me" time every week?
