Stand For Something

Now more than ever it is necessary to be passionate and to truly stick up for what you believe in. I have been so inspired by the recent events like the national march out against gun violence yesterday that happened around the country at 10 AM. I truly believe that my generation and those coming after us are truly pushing for changes in our lifestyles, politics, and how we treat the environment. It is so important for children as well to know the change starts with you. If you cannot stick up for what you believe is important and fight for the changes you see fit in this world we would be stuck in the 1950's. Not to get too political but I do think it is necessary for people to stand up for the things they believe in. For example, take Kat Saddler and E! News on the whole pay equality situation, I support you Kat because without standing up and fighting for these situations she is guaranteeing other women and girls will have the courage to stick up for themselves too. It is crazy how much power there really is in numbers. 

Growing up I had a few strong and powerful ladies in my life to look up to and I want to take the time to thank them, because they also taught me to stand for what I believe. My mother has always been my biggest support system, I cannot thank Denise enough. Check out her latest adventure over at Denise's Dream. Last week was International Women's Day and you know what I think, every day is International Women's Day! We have come so far in the last few decades and it is not going to stop any time soon. With the whole Time's Up movement, Me Too, and the equality pay situation coming front and center with high paid women demanding the same as their male counterparts times are changing and for the better. Strong women may we know them, may we be them, may we raise them.
