The only thing in constant in life is change. That is why it is so important to embrace new beginnings when we want them or not. It is not always a choice in life but sometimes the right time whether we like to think so or not. However, I have always embraced change and get so excited with my mixed emotions of anxiety which is totally normal. I love the challenge of being pushed out of my own comfort zone and challenged in ways I didn't know I could push myself. This has helped me SO much as an adult with my attitude and positive energy which everyone seems to notice and appreciate.
This post is completely inspired by the twist and turns my life has been taking the last couple of weeks as I have decided to leave my full time career as a Stylist Assistant to one of the top sellers at Nordstrom and pursue a career in a the Technology Recruiting industry. I have valued all I have learned at Nordstrom and could not have been blessed with a more perfect boss, Joanne Hassis, whom taught me so much about selling and the real world. However, the older I get the more I wanted more stability and growth opportunity. I seriously had to ask myself like where do I see myself in the next 5-10 years and honestly think about that, which is terrifying at 24. It was also a little terrifying to buy a house with my boyfriend but I could not have been happier with my decision and the adorable home we have now in a very friendly neighborhood. So if adulthood as taught me anything so far it is, it’s okay to be a little scared or nervous but you must take the leap. No matter what you will learn from it for the good and the bad but we have to chose our own mistakes and paths. Never let someone influence your decision when it comes down to what you want to achieve for yourself. I have struggled with this in the past, worried about who’s feelings I will hurt or what someone could think of the decision I have made. But I am finally confident in myself to know I am going to make the decision I want no matter what. If I fail that is on me and I can grow so much from any experience. If I succeed it goes to show why I made the leap in the first place.
So I hope this has inspired someone out there to go make that leap in their life! Change is the only thing that is constant so we might as well embrace it!!
P.S. Super random question but would seriously appreciate any feedback in the comments. Commuting daily into the city via train, what is the one item I definitely need to invest in?? Like your girl doesn’t even own a pair of rain boots yet!!
